*Beginning February 5th at 6:00pm: “Not A Fan” video series. This is a six week series to challenge us to leave our comfort zones. We will watch the video, then discuss how we can challenge more people for commitment.

Those invited to this meeting will be the single persons of the church, as well as single folks you might know outside our church family. So you are encouraged to invite your single family and friends to join this group and have fellowship with us. At the first meeting, I’d like for us to concentrate on what you would like to gain from this group. We will have devotion time, discuss your interest, talk about how often you’d like for this group to meet, use some time for supporting each other. There are times we all have struggles to deal with. Although all situations are different, hopefully we can offer some encouraging words to those who are hurting. This is our opportunity to lift someone’s spirit in the Lord. So come, join in the group. Come prepared to share your thoughts and ideas. Maybe we can get in some weekend activities as well. It is my goal to bring this group together in Christian love, fellowship, and support. Hope to see you here on January 26, 2012 at 7 PM.

• On Sunday, Dec. 11, the youth group will have a Dessert Auction Fundraiser, following our evening service. Come and help support the youth group. Enjoy a fun time together and some delicious desserts.
• The Friendship Circle Christmas party is Tuesday, December 13that the church. Bring a $5-$10 gift to exchange.
• The Willing Workers class Christmas Dinner will be Saturday,December 17th at 4:00pm. They would like to invite all churchteachers, staff, elders, deacons and their families to join them.
• The Children’s and Youth Christmas Program will be Sunday,December 18th at 6:00pm. Join us as the kids tell of Jesus’ birth through skits and songs.
• Join us for Christmas Caroling on Tuesday, December 20th at 7:00pm.
• Venture Kidz will have a Christmas Party on Wednesday, December 21stat 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. The kids do not need to bring anything, just come for some snacks and fun! Then on Wednesday,December 28th, we will be going to see the Speedway in Lights.
• The Youth group Christmas Party will be Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m. The party will begin at Jamie and Alex’s house for food and fun, and then the youth group will go to the Speedway in Lights.
• We will have our Christmas Eve Communion and Candlelight service on Saturday, December 24th at 6:00pm.
• Jim and Sheryl Shipley will be having a New Year’s Eve party from 8:00 till 12:00 on New Year’s Eve. The entire church family is invited. Call 423-538-6167 for directions.

• Our “Hanging of the Greens” will be tonight (Nov. 27) at 6:00pm. Invite your friends and family to join us for this special service.
• Our Christmas card mailbox will be available in the foyer beginning next Sunday, November 27th – Sunday, December 18th. You can place the Christmas cards you’re giving in the “mailbox”and they will then be distributed into each person’s mail slot. It is helpful if you can alphabetize your cards by last name and place a rubber band around them. You can pick up the Christmas cardsgiven to you each Sunday or Wednesday in the mail room, across from the nursery, in the foyer. Unfortunately, we are unable to mailcards to those who are not able to be at church to pick them up.
• A Women’s Christmas Prayer Breakfast will be held at the Red Rooster Market on Saturday, December 3rd at 9am. See Linda Metcalfe for more information or to RSVP.
• The Seekers Class Christmas Party will be Saturday, December 3rd at 6:30pm at the church. The meal will be covered dish. Drinks and paper products will be provided. Bring a gag gift to exchange.

• The Youth Group will be going to the Tennessee Christian Teen Convention on January 6th – 8th. If you are interested in going as a teen (6th – 12th grade) or as an adult sponsor, sign up for this event with Alex by November 13th. The cost will be $45, due by December 4th.

• Wednesday, October 26th, at 6:30pm will be our Wonderful Wednesday Community Dinner. The Homebuilders class will host. The menu will be ham, mac-n-cheese, green beans, rolls,and dessert. Everyone come and invite you friends and neighbors to join us for this free meal and great time of fellowship.
• The Area Ladies Meeting will be Thursday, October 27th from7:00 – 9:00pm at Suburban Christian Church. We will take the van and leave the church at 6:15pm. Please bring finger sandwiches or a salad to share. Make plans now to go.
• Due to the Area Ladies Meeting scheduled for October 27th, the  Mary Martha Circle will meet November 17th at 7:00 at the church.
• The Christian Student Fellowship’s Annual Celebration Banquet will be Saturday, October 29th at Boones Creek Christian Church. Dinner begins at 6:00pm followed by a student program. Please let John Davis know if you can go (we will take the van if enough attend).
• CANDY NEEDED: West Hills will again be hosting a Trunk-n-Treat at the church on Monday, October 31st. We need your help in several ways. We had approximately 1,000 kids come last year and we need people to come, decorate your car trunk (and yourself if you want) and pass out candy to the kids. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated trunk and best costume. We also need LOTS of candy to hand out. If you can provide candy, please bring it to the church and put it in the box in the foyer. Also, if you would like to donate money for candy, see Amy Mullins or Johnny Hutchinson.

• Steven James, author and Christian storyteller, will be at West Hills on October 9th at 6 p.m. This event is free and will be a fun time for all ages!  We are blessed to have this talented man with us. Invite your friends and join us for this event. After Steven shares with us we will have a reception downstairs and enjoy ice cream and banana splits.

• Change of date for the Sisters-In-Christ circle will meet Monday, October 10th at 6:00pm at the church instead of meeting on October 3rd.

• Help Needed for Trunk-n-Treat: West Hills will again be hosting a Trunk-n-Treat at the church on Monday, October 31st. We need your help in several ways. We had approximately 1,000 kids come through last year and we need people willing to come, decorate your car trunk(and yourself if you want) and pass out candy to the kids. We will award prizes for the best decorated trunk and best costume. We alsoneed LOTS of candy to hand out. If you are able to provide some bags of candy, please bring them to the church and place in the boxin the foyer. • We will have a card shower for Minister Appreciation on Sunday,October 23rd, following our evening service.

• Our Wonderful Wednesday Community Dinner is Wednesday, September 28th. The Willing Worker class will host. Invite your friends and neighbors to join us!

• Venture Kidz (Preschool – 5th grade) will be going to the Cleek Farm Corn Maze on Saturday, October 1st. We will leave the church at 9:15am and return around 2:15pm. There will be no cost to the kids for this activity and lunch will be included. Please sign up on the bulletin board outside Amy’s office if you will be attending

• You’re Invited to the 5th Annual Ball Fall Bash on October 1st, beginning at 5:00pm. Supper served at 6:00pm. Bring your family and your favorite covered dishes and roast a hot dog with the Ball family and their friends at the home of Ronnie Ball. If you’re a picker and a grinner, bring your instruments for a jam session. If you need directions, see Ronnie Ball. • Steven James, writer and entertaining Christian storyteller, will be at West Hills on Sunday, October 9th at 6:00 pm (during our normal evening service time). This will be a fun and family friendly event! Invite your friends and join us! Following Steven’s performance,we will enjoy banana splits together in the fellowship hall!

• We need your help in keeping the church nursery. Sharon Hutchinson will be asking for volunteers to serve in our church nursery. She will have a sign-up sheet for available dates. Thanks!
