West Hills Christian Church: News and Notes

Our annual “Hanging of the Greens” service will be held on Sunday, November 29^th at 6:00pm.  Anyone interested in purchasing a poinsettia “in honor” or “in memory” of a loved one, please see Janet Cross.

The “Hanging of the Greens” is a wonderful way to begin the Christmas season, combining Scripture readings, hymns, and carols with the decoration of the sanctuary as we begin our celebration the birth of Christ.

• Practice for the Children’s Christmas program has begun.  We will be assigning parts on 11/15.  Parents, please have your children here for practice each Sunday and Wednesday night.  Thank you!

• Venture Kidz (2 yrs – 5^th grade) will be having a “Game Night/Pizza Party” on Friday, November 20^th from 5:30pm – 8:30pm.  If your kids are coming, please sign them up outside Amy’s office by tonight.  The kids will receive their new Venture Kidz t-shirts. This will also be a Parents Night Out – parents have a date night or do some Christmas shopping, etc.

The Sisters-In-Christ will be sponsoring our annual Thanksgiving Eve Dinner on Wednesday, November 25^th at 6:30pm.  The meat, bread, and drinks will be provided.  Please bring a vegetable, salad, or dessert.  Remain in the sanctuary until after the blessing.  Your dishes of food will be taken to the Fellowship Hall for you.  We praythat everyone will receive a blessing by being there.

• The Sisters-In-Christ circle meeting will be Monday, November 9^th at 6:00pm at the church.  All ladies are welcome to join us.  We will be finalizing our Thanksgiving Eve Dinner plans.

• Our next cottage prayer meeting will be Tuesday, November 10^th at 7:00pm at Gary & Janice’s house (237 Collingwood Dr.).  Childcare will be provided.

• The 2009 Annual Celebration Banquet of the Christian Student Fellowship will be Saturday, November 14 at Boones Creek Christian Church.  They will share with us the current stories about what God accomplishes through this ministry.  This banquet is for supporting congregations, interested congregations, Campus House alumni, supporting individuals, parents of students, mission committees, & you.  Supper served at 6:00pm.  Worship and program follow at 6:45pm.  RSVP by Monday, November 9 to 423-928-2870 or campushouse@juno.com or you can tell John Davis you are planning to attend.
